One of our own, Tony Villanueva, has received the Luminary Award on January 11, 2012.  A very prestigious award from NSH, Congratulations Tony!

“The leadership of NSH has developed the NSH Luminary Award, which was presented to Tony on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. The NSH Luminary Award was established to recognize and honor those individuals who have generously awarded NSH with tangible gifts of leadership, mentorship, education and advocacy. We present with gratitude this highest accolade to colleagues who have supported and demonstrated a lifetime commitment to both the Histotechnology Profession and the Society through their dedication and vision.”

Tony Villanueva, a dear friend to many of us, has passed on in his sleep on January 14, 2012.   He will be missed by his many friends in ASH.  We offer our condolences to his wife, Carmen, and his family.
